So long, Elmo's World ...

The 43rd season of Sesame Street starts up Monday! I'm a little nervous for little kids everywhere who have been hooked on Elmo's World ..... because it's going away and being replaced by "Elmo the Musical." I'm sure it's going to be great and all, but when John randomly decides that he wants to watch Sesame Street on Netflix for a little trip down memory lane he doesn't ask for Sesame Street ..... he asks for Elmo's World.

John has an Elmo bologna & cheese sandwich with cheddar eyes and American cheese nose that was cut from a new sandwich cutter we received in a care package from a friend. (This may very well be the one and only time we'll use it for outside the home ... John is growing up way too quickly!) The eyes are propped up with some Veggie Straws and there are also yogurt raisins and "Dorothys" (Goldfish).

Bob The Builder ... Again!

Back in September John had a Bob The Builder lunch. Since John still loves Bob and Wendy and the whole crew I decided it was time for a redo!

Bob & Wendy are Biscoff & Jam on wheat. They're sitting on top of some pepperoni bites which are being further hidden by a cut up cheddar stick and LifeSaver Gummies. Instead of his normal Capri Sun he's got a Scoop Tummy Tickler!

Lunch with @pbskids Dinosaur Train's Buddy & Tiny

Please forgive the brevity of the post. We went to the 6th birthday party this morning for my future daughter-in-law (so says John) and I hardly had the energy to make lunch much less write a terribly witty or even semi-interesting post to go with it! I had to work last night, got out at 7:15am and the party went from 9-11am. No nap. No wit. I'm lucky I can still manage to trace pictures with toothpick in hand :)

Buddy & Tiny are John's favorites from "Dinosaur Train" so I drew them onto ham & cheese Wonder Smart White sandwiches. Included are grapes, LifeSaver gummies, and Goldfish (since they eat fish on the show).

@Scholastic Big Red Readers

For Christmas John got quite a few books so when I asked him to pick one out for his lunch tomorrow he immediately ran to the pile of books from Mommy Santa. The book he grabbed was Winter Is Nice from Scholastic's Big Red Reader series based on the PBS Kids show. He couldn't pick out a single scene, though, as he wanted all four dogs from the books & show -- Cleo, T-Bone, Mac and Clifford!

Clifford is a cheese sandwich and the other three are pickle loaf & cheese. Add-ons are Cheez-It Scrabble Jr crackers with "wag" spelled out on the top layer, grapes and fruit snacks.

Elmo!

Is there a 5 year old out there who doesn't love Elmo?

Here Elmo is a ham & swiss sandwich. Also included are Goldfish (for his pet, Dorothy), cherry jello, and an apple.

Clifford's Halloween Howl

I knew I wanted to do a lunch based on one of John's favorite books - one of his very first Scholastic Book Club orders back when he was in preschool. Of course, when I went to go find the book it wasn't on his bookshelf. It was in his bed! Some kids can't go to sleep at night without a favorite teddy... MY boy can't go to sleep at night without a book :)

Emily Elizabeth is a cheese sandwich. Clifford is a turkey sandwich. The jack o'lantern is a Nilla wafer & there are a few more of those with some Twizzler Nibs in the small container. Add a Clifford juice box and fruit (which I have to run to the store for now), and we have lunch!

A Super Why Lunch (@pbskids)

John loves Super Why so it was no shock when he requested it for his lunch bag!

A turkey sandwich made up Super Why and his book (it's a mystery!). Add-ons are applesauce, Create-a-Bug fruit snacks and the ever popular slim jim!

Another @pbskids lunch - Curious George

I had the brilliant idea of tracing my picture of George with the food gel right on the paper. I then transferred it by pressing it right onto the bread. Pretty smart Mommy, huh?

The sandwich is roast beef.
The Man's hat is painted cheddar.
Add some vanilla pudding & a banana (and his drink, of course) & we've got a lunch!

Sid The Science Kid Lunch (@pbskids)

*baby carrots
*blueberry yogurt tube (currently frozen)

If nothing else I seem to be getting quite adept at painting with toothpicks! :)
