Fun in Five!

Yesterday in the store I stumbled upon some banana bread bagels and knew I had to get them for John. He was super excited about them and wanted one for lunch today with peanut butter and strawberry jam. He also said he wanted to Angry Birds ... and that it should be "super fast" ... so out came the iPad timer! Works great for me since he doesn't have school on Friday and I wanted something fun for this week's 15 Minute Friday at Bentos On The Bayou ;)

In his Easy Lunchbox he has the bagel sandwich he requested, grapes, Original Tings, yogurt in a Mini Dipper (already prepared and in the freezer), and his Omega 3 Gummies with a couple of Angry Bird gummy pigs tossed in to go along with the cupcake rings to fit his chosen theme.

Go Green, Get Lucky! Angry Birds a la @BentoUSA

I normally don't go out of my way to make cute lunches on weekends, but John hasn't been feeling great the past couple of days. He finally decided he needed to eat and was beyond excited when I suggested a lunch based on the Angry Birds Seasons Go Green, Get Lucky for the upcoming St. Patrick's Day!

He wanted turkey and cheese so I used our CuteZCute cutter to make the pig with some spinach tortilla and tossed him in a frying pan to melt the provolone a bit before topping him with more provolone for the snout, eyes and ears. His hat is a cupcake ring. The mustache and pupils are drawn on using AmeriColor markers. He also has Angry Bird Gummies, Omega 3s, Cheese Doodle-Os, grapes, a mozzarella stick chopped in half with an Angry Bird ring & Shamrock ring, and a Lucky Charms cereal bar. It's all packed in one of his favorite EasyLunchboxes!

John got a new shirt from RedBubble yesterday and immediately decided that he needed it for lunch today ... so here it is!

Angry Birds MTM (Kinda. Sorta. Close enough?)

It's a pretty simple Angry Birds lunch today using the LunchBots Quad that John loves so much. It ended up being kinda like a Muffin Tin Meal .... sorta. Kinda.

Angry Birds Star Wars - Darth Vader Pig

The last Angry Birds Star Wars lunch for at least a while ... so, of course, we have to end with Darth Vader Pig!

Darth Vader Pig is drawn onto a PB&J sandwich. There are also grapes, Angry Bird Gummies, Turkey Bites and cut string cheese.
Hopefully next week I can get back to making book lunches ...

Angry Birds Star Wars Tie-Fighter Pig

John finally gets his Tie-Fighter Pig today! The lighting was lousy for taking the picture but it at least got done ...

Angry Birds Star Wars - Stormtrooper Pig

This isn't the lunch he was looking for ....

John had originally asked for a Tie-Fighter Pig for today's lunch but it wasn't playing nicely so a Stormtrooper it is! The sandwich is, of course, pb&j and is sitting on grapes with Angry Bird Gummies and star crackers. He also has a tub of yogurt (unpictured).

The box is one of my boxes from All Things For Sale that he asked to use. I just couldn't say no!

Angry Birds Star Wars - Sand Pig from Tatooine

Part of me was hoping that John forgot that he wanted a week of Angry Star Wars Pigs after having the birds last week ....
Of course, he didn't.

The pig is pb&j on wheat. He also has a cheese stick, Angry Bird Gummies, grapes, baby carrots and some ranch dressing for dipping.

In Angry Birds Star Wars C3PO & R2D2 appear on special levels. Probably because eggs aren't easy to work with ;)

Everyone's favorite droids are hard cooked eggs. I left C3POs egg soaking overnight in a water/color wash in order to get him the right color. John also has a cheese stick, Mini Slim Jim, tiny star peanut butter sandwiches, Angry Bird Cheese Nips, grapes and pig gummies.

Angry Birds Santa Pig

John still loves his Angry Birds and we've been playing the Angry Birds Seasons "Winter Wonderham" which is the inspiration for this lunch. He has a ham & cheese Santa Pig, Angry Bird Cheese Nips, Craisins & fruit snacks. Of course the pig was made with the amazing CuteZCute cutter. Every time John sees the set in the drawer he wants an Angry Birds Pig!

Angry Birds with CuteZCute

Another fun lunch thanks to the new CuteZCute cutter set! As soon as the package was opened John took one look at the pig cutter and thought of Angry Birds -- so here's his first Angry Birds lunch of the school year!

The pig is bologna and cheese. There are also Angry Bird Cheese Nips crackers and fruit snacks and an Angry Bird ring on his cheese stick. Yogurt raisins are representing the eggs and there are also grapes simply because John loves grapes!

Angry Birds Piglantis

This isn't actually John's lunch for tomorrow but it was going to be. I had this great plan to end his Kindergarten year the same way we started -- with an Angry Birds lunch. I even have it in the same box I used for his first day of school! But, alas, it rained this morning so his class picnic got moved to tomorrow and he had a specific idea in mind that he wanted me to make for that ... so he's eating his Piglantis now and I'll post his/our actual lunch for tomorrow later... MUCH later! (It's also going to be part of a super fun Blog Hop so make sure you check back tomorrow morning for it!)

Angry Birds Happy King (or Queen) Pig

It's always good to have a guaranteed hit to fall back on when no other ideas come to mind. For John that's Angry Birds and for tomorrow he's getting a happy King Queen Pig (Rovio says it's a king but John insists she's a she so therefore a Queen).
The pig is bologna and cheese and is joined by Scrabble Jr Cheez-Its, green grapes and green LifeSaver Gummies.

The new Icy Bird from Angry Birds Space

John was having fun picking out pictures to base the rest of the lunches for the week on.

This came from a picture of a t-shirt he saw of Froshh -- one of the new birds from Angry Birds Space who freezes the pigs when he hits them. 

Froshh is ham and cheese on whole wheat. The frozen pigs are monterey jack cheese. There are also Angry Bird Gummies and a clementine "planet."

Angry Birds Space in Lock & Lock

Today the latest in the Angry Birds franchise was released: Angry Birds Space!

Of course, it had to be put on the iPad, Android & John's iPod Touch as soon as we woke up this morning. Already BIG fans!

For lunch tomorrow John has the mini turkey sandwiches and cheddar cheese birds, star crackers with candy eggs, and an Oreo planet with gummy pigs.

Yet another Angry Birds lunch!

John stayed home sick from school today but has picking at the lunch that would have gone with him off and on all afternoon so a new lunch for tomorrow ... just in case he's feeling well enough to go. At this point I'm really not sure since he's only gotten off of the couch 3 or 4 times all day ... but I'm hoping!

He hasn't had an Angry Birds lunch since the end of January so I figured it's about time for a new one -- this time colored with the natural powders from Chocolate Craft Studio and packed in his Lock & Lock. The sandwiches are bologna and cheese on whole wheat with cheese for the pig eyes and beaks and Yellow Bird's eyebrows. In the top left (and as a barricade for the pig) are pretzel sticks. The top also has Angry Bird Gummies and grapes.
