Ballerina Dalek

First thing first: go read the post from earlier today to see John's first day of first grade lunch AND enter the giveaway for free Chobani Champions greek yogurt!!! The stuff is DELISH!

Okay, now for my lunch for work. Again, from the most recent episode of my beloved Doctor Who. Inspiration came from Pinterest and from this clip:
Again, it's one of those best understood if you've seen the episode.
The bottom section has turkey meatballs and sauce on top of tortellini and topped with a provolone Dalek. The top is a broccoli, cauliflower and carrot blend.

    2. I'm not having much luck. It seems the gel is drying or soaking into the paper. I do get some transfer but not enough to work with. I've tried Americolor and Wilton food gels. Are you using special paper?

    3. AH HA! I *JUST* figured it out! (why yes I do stay up late doing bento experiments)... I wasn't "mooshing" the bread nearly hard enough. YAY!

    4. Oh there have been SOOOO many times when my gel dried before I could get to the mooshing part! Complicated pictures are the WORST! (Like when I did my Game of Thrones lunches. I thought I was going to scream getting all the details done before the outter lines dried!) :)
